FAQ

Product questions

What is in each serving?

According to the Supplement Facts panel on the bottle, one serving is 2 veggie capsules and is labeled as providing 1,000 mg of magnesium (238% Daily Value) as magnesium oxide, glycinate, malate, taurate, citrate, carbonate, aspartate and orotate. The amount of each individual form is not disclosed on the label.

What are the other ingredients?

Hypromellose (vegetable capsule), magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide and microcrystalline cellulose, as listed on the label.

How many servings are in a bottle?

90 capsules, 45 servings of 2 capsules.

How should I take it?

Follow the directions on your bottle or the advice of your healthcare professional. The labeled serving size is 2 capsules; your healthcare professional may suggest a different intake.

Does having eight forms mean it works better?

Not necessarily. Magnesium compounds differ in how easily they are absorbed (the NIH notes that aspartate, citrate, lactate and chloride forms are absorbed more easily than some others), but the number of forms on its own does not show that a product is more effective or better tolerated.

Is 1,000 mg a lot?

It is a high labeled amount. For context, the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements lists 350 mg per day as the upper limit for magnesium from supplements and medications for adults unless a healthcare provider recommends otherwise. High intakes can cause diarrhea, nausea and abdominal cramping. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist what is appropriate for you.

Can I take it with medication?

Magnesium can interact with some medicines, including certain antibiotics, bisphosphonates and diuretics. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist first, especially if you take medication, have kidney disease, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Is it suitable for children?

No. It is labeled for adults only. Keep out of reach of children.
